Hi, my name is Aansh Raj with past experience in the film making industry and family expertise in fashion design.
& I, Sachi Kaur and I have a Bachelor of design degree in Fashion Communication. After which I took up styling for a bit and moved on to building a brand called The Nut Crackers. We started our friendship on the conversation of clothes & fashion. When we spoke about fashion it always seemed like a farfetched dream to start our own label someday.
Everytime a new collection or a new trend picked up, we discussed it for hours. We went shopping and more than buying things we would discuss about the fits and cuts & how we could style it. That’s when Anaran was born. We got on a mission to revive Indian techniques & bring them into modern silhouettes. Garments that were contemporary, versatile & would be time pieces in your wardrobe. When we were thinking of a name for the brand the kid in us wanted to incorporate either one of our names with a significant word from the world of fashion. After brainstorming for a month We got down to Aansh which means part & yarn which means the thread used to make clothes. put together we called it ‘Anaran’
Anaran in Sanskrit also means Inspired by God. We as individuals are extremely spiritual and hence this word made perfect sense!

Our journey to create Anaran began with a vision: to celebrate Indian culture through contemporary fashion. While many advised us to explore textile hubs like Surat and Rajasthan, my deep-rooted connection to Mumbai drove me to build the brand in the city that shaped me. I believed that Mumbai, with its vibrant spirit, could offer something unique—if only we could find the right people who shared our passion.
As we delved into our research, we discovered a treasure trove of artisans in Mumbai who had mastered traditional techniques passed down through generations. These artists, whose crafts had seen a decline as fashion shifted to other regions, were eager to revive their skills and contribute to something meaningful.
After six months of tireless research, meetings, and collaboration, we finally assembled a team of Mumbai’s most talented artisans and garment developers. Together, we breathed life into Anaran—a brand that blends the timeless essence of Indian culture with modern design, bringing the soul of Mumbai to the world stage.
